and falling is forever

I’m her again, the one spinning in circles. Looking for a door

in a windowless room. Looking for a window in a room made of doors.

I’ve always been looking for a window. Always as in once. As in once

I reached out to you like you had latches. Latches that click

and hold birds behind them. And the ocean. Blue vertigo and sea breeze.

That’s you. That’s the one with clouds for eyes. I always knew you were full of sky.

I knew you were a window. I knew you had a ledge. I never had

a mother but if I did she would’ve warned me. Ledges are for jumping

and jumping is for falling. And falling is forever and falling is forever. And falling is forever

and falling is forever
